Tooele County is home to a fascinating historical landmark, the Grantsville First Ward Church building, which dates back to 1865. The cornerstone for the building was laid on July 24th of that year, and the day was celebrated with a program and dance in the newly constructed bowery.
One year later, the new chapel was completed and dedicated, with the dedicatory prayer offered by George Q. Cannon.
