Tooele County is home to a fascinating historical landmark, the Tooele Hospital, which dates back to 1873. Originally constructed as a residence by Samuel F. Lee, the building was later used as an old folks home and was known as the County Poor House in 1913.
Over the years, the building served several different purposes, including functioning as the Tooele Hospital before reverting back to an old folks home when the new Tooele County Hospital was built in 1953. Despite its many changes, the Tooele Hospital remains a significant and historic part of the local community, offering an insight into the area’s past.
