Discover the rugged beauty of the Deseret Peak Wilderness Area, located in the Stansbury Mountain Range and just west of Tooele Valley. With over 25,212 acres of alpine terrain, including the highest peak in Tooele County, Deseret Peak, and its summit of 11,031 feet, this wilderness area offers breathtaking views of the county, Great Salt Lake, and the northern and southern Wasatch Front. Explore the indigenous flora and fauna of the Great Basin region and the remnants of the last glacial age at North and South Willow Lakes. Access the popular Deseret Peak and the lakes via the Loop Campground trailhead at the end of South Willow Canyon. The peak’s north-facing couloirs are popular for summer skiing and glissading.
